I am currently using Dev C++ program for the program I write in. I was wondering if there are any free download programs out there that are a text editor? I mean by giving it a black background, certain key words are highlighted to different colors? I know there is one like it for another program, Visual Studios I believe. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I use the RichTextBox and sometimes put it into overwrite mode. I'd like the cursor to show whether its in overwrite or insert mode. I often use Cursor.Current = Cursors.WaitCursor and therefore need to change the cursor to show the overwrite/insert mode in such a way that when the Cursor.Current is reset after the need for the wait. One way to get input into a program or to display output from a program is to use standard input and standard output, respectively. All that means is that to read in data, we use cin (or a few other functions) and to write out data, we use cout. When we need to take input from a file (instead of having the user type data at the keyboard) we can use input redirection. MBR simple overwrite - posted in Source Codes: Hi to you all! Which Dev are you using?

I believe I'm using v4.9 and I always give myself a--

>Black Background
>Green text
>Red paranthesis/brackets
>Yellow Hexadecimal/Octal

etc..

I think you just need to go to your environment options to make the edits.

Edit: Go to your Editor options and go to Syntax - you can make the changes there.

I searched a lot but there seems to be no way to have additional color schemes in Dev C++. The existing ones are way too bland. Also, I am no good at colors, yet, it feels as if I don't have the control to choose enough colors in the Editor Options. Is there a workaround? Can anyone port '>this?

Certainly some may say this is a lot of fuss over nothing. But, I believe its really important.

No one has an answer? Or is it that Dev C++ does not have such features. Tell me about a good editor (if not an IDE) which is good features and additional color scheme adding capability.
